New Varsity Head Football Coach Named

We would like to welcome Joe Rydzewski as the next Varsity Head Football Coach at Winston Churchill High School. Coach Rydzewski brings a great deal of football experience with him having coached on both the high school and collegiate levels while also playing collegiate football at McDaniel College. Having served most recently as an offensive coordinator at Urbana High School, Coach Rydzewski was also the Varsity Head Football Coach at Watkins Mill High School from 2008 – 2011. While at Watkins Mill, Coach helped the team to a .500 record for the first time in 10 seasons. His time at Watkins Mill saw a growth in not only the success of the program but also the participation numbers and the increase of players moving on to the collegiate level to continue their football playing careers. He brought a respectability back to the program that had not been there since the 90’s.

Coach Rydzewski is excited about being part of the Bulldog community and will bring a lot to the football program both on and off of the field. The first thing he will be doing is meeting with players this coming Tuesday, February 25th at lunch in the lower gym to lay out the next steps in taking the Bulldogs to elite status within the county.

So please welcome Coach Rydzewski to the Bulldog Family when you get the moment. We’re very happy to have in wearing the Royal Blue & Kelly Green! Go Dawgs!
